Apeejay Schools are intellectual and creative centres that enable learners to imbibe the three powerful virtues of a truly educated individual - Strength, Vision and Wisdom.
Over the last 40 years, since our first school came up in 1975 in Kolkata, Apeejay Schools have won innumerable accolades for academic excellence and admiration for the strong bond of trust and faith shared between parents, teachers and students. With an unrelenting focus on the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental growth of the child we prepare a little over 2000 children, annually, to mature into socially responsible citizens.
Apeejay Schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India’s largest educational board. The School Management Committee is chaired by Mrs Shirin Paul, Chairperson Emeritus of Apeejay Surrendra Group and the operations as well as management of Apeejay Schools is overseen by Mr Karan Paul, Chairman of Apeejay Surrendra Group.
Established in 1910, Apeejay Surrendra Group is one of India's oldest and largest business conglomerates. The Group's businesses are spread over Tea (Plantations & FMCG brands); Shipping; Hospitality; Real Estate (Commercial & Business Centres); Retail brands (Bookstores & Tea Rooms) ; Marine Cluster ; Logistics Parks and Knowledge Parks. The Group believes that education is a powerful force for social change as it empowers individuals and their families, enriches communities and ultimately uplifts societies. The Group’s welfare trusts, The Apeejay Trust [Est. 1974], the Apeejay Education Association [Est. 1984] and the Apeejay Education Trust [Est. 1977] have made notable investments over the years in creating knowledge institutions and supporting the aspirations of deserving candidates through school and higher learning. Apeejay Schools have been instituted under the aegis of Apeejay Education Trust.
Apeejay Schools respect the dignity and worth of all children because we believe that all children can be fostered to manifest their full potential within a school environment that is both caring and challenging. We believe that every child can succeed if they have the right opportunity. This is why for the last nearly 25 years, Apeejay Schools have provided safe haven and joy of learning to nearly 700 children annually from the underprivileged community around them, in the Apeejay Anand Children’s Libraries, hosted within the Apeejay Schools premises. The Apeejay Education Trust has identified and sponsored the education of talented children identified from this unique Education Support Program run by volunteer teachers and student volunteers from Apeejay Schools.
The entry point to the school is Lower Kindergarten, to which children aged 3 + are admitted. Admission procedure includes group discussions with parents and activities with children. The School is affiliated to CBSE board.
