VMS started its journey in the year 1978 in a rented house with approximately 300 students upto year 6.Initially the children were trained to appear at their board examinations from the local West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Later in the year 1992 the school received the affiliation to Council for Indian School Certificate Examination which entitled the children to sit for Indian Certificate for Secondary Examination (ICSE meant for year 10) and Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC for year 12). The 1st ICSE batch of 10 students appeared in the year 1995 followed by the 1st ISC batch in the year 1997. By this time a land was acquired and a magnificent building was constructed opposite the IIMC at Joka, ideally conducive to good learning enviornment. Thus the school, from year 5 onwards was, shifted to its present address. Within a couple of years another building was annexed to the existing one to accommodate the increasing number of students. Infrastructural growth began to take shape in the form of fully equipped Physics ,Chemistry ,Biology labs , a couple of state-of-the art computer labs, spacious library, two halls , the second one is largely used as the audio-visual room, a play house for the young one

Admission Info

This is done at two stages. Once in Pre-Nursery / Nursery Class and then in the +2 ISC course. Admission to other classes is subject to the availability of vacancies. There is no admission in classes IX, X & XII. The decision of the school authorities is final binding in selecting the students for admission.

Streams at the +2 level: Science, Commerce and Humanities.

This is done through a written test and a personal interview. All students seeking admission must have the birth registration certificate issued by a duly authorized body. In case of inter-state transfers it is imperative that the Transfer Certificate should be endorsed by the Education Department of the state concerned. No admission will be considered without this. Any effort at seeking admission through dubious means such as offering a donation will debar a student from getting admission.
