At first some keen educationists and intellectual distinguished guardians of this area and neighbouring areas decided to set up a new school. With this noble mission and with the consent of late Dinabandhu Das of Pianjberia in 1885 a new school was established in the Varanda of Late Dinabandhu Das. But in 1889 as the river Kangsabati swelled due to devastating flood, the school was washed completely. On request of some distinguished guardians, Late Indranarayan Maity with the help of some rich people of Panchberia agreed to built up this school near the Srirampur old bazaar to the east side of his pond. In 1890 the school was started as Srirampur Lower Primary School. After that, it was gradually uplifted as uchha Primary in 1906, upto class V in 1909, upto class VI in 1910. Then it was named as SRIRAMPUR MIDDLE ENGLISH SCHOOL.

In 1928 Late Surendranath Kar, the then Headmaster of the school had his training in Agriculture from Dhaka University. Thereafter, the school was converted to Agriculture School. But due to lack of accommodation the villagers requested Late Padmalochan Kar and Late Ramsaday Kar to donate a land for the school. Both of them heartily donated 3 kathas of land in plot no 3553 for the establishment of the school. The school was upgraded to class VII in 1933. to class VIII in 1934, to class IX in 1948 and class X in 1949(Vide Recognition No.S/370/PRO-1701 dt.2-8-49). Then the school was named as SRIRAMPUR KRISHI UCHHA ENGLISH VIDYALAYA. In 1963 it was up graded to class XI and in 1964 upto class XII. Thereafter, it was named as SRIRAMPUR AGRICULTURAL HIGH SCHOOL. In 1974 the XI,XII classes were withdrawn and converted to Madhyamik school. In 1984 the H.S. stream was opened which was recognised by W.B.C.H.S.E(Vide No.164(10) DS(A) 84 dt.6-8-1984). The school has also its Vocational stream (VIII+ Level & X+ Level) since 2006.

Now there are two school building one two storied and another three storied with asbestos and tiles roofs. There are about 1767 students including general and vocational stream. The result is satisfactory both in H.S. and M.P. Examination, more than 97% students become successful in every year. It has now the facility of separate sanitation for students and teachers (M/F), sufficient water supply with purification, Laboratory for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer, Library and Hostel.
