The library was named in the name of Radhikanath Nandi in the year 1910 who was the Deputy Collector of the Khasmahal office at Mainaguri. With his great effort and with the help of landlord of that area , the library began its work. At that time monthly membership fee of the library was 1 ‘Ana’. The library was recognized as a rural library in the year 1957 and after that it was upgraded as town library on 1st March, 1983. Now the library has more than 14,000 books and around 600 members.
