The library was established in 1979 in a rented house and became govt sponsored in the year 1981. Irrigation Department offer lease of 0.8 acres land for the purpose of erecting library building through Diamond Harbour Panchayat Samity in 1982. In 1998 the library management constructed two storied building of its own on the above land with the financial assistance of Zilla Parishad 24 Parganas South , M.P.LAD funds, MLA Quotas and also donations collected from the public.
