The Seacom Skills University grew out of the aspirational desire to educate mainly the poor and the deprived in the society and to empower them with the essential skills necessary for the development and growth of the Indian economy.

In setting up this unique institution, we did not forget the message of Swami Vivekananda, ‘Education is the manifestation of perfection already in men.’ Indeed, we do believe every soul is a source of immense potential to be nurtured and harnessed for the benefits of the society at large. This realization has been reflected in the site selection in a rural environment and also in the design of course curricula of the University.

We strongly believe not just to complement Rabindranath Tagore’s vision of Visva-Bharati but to cater to the poor to generate bands of expert engineers and skilled work force. Our University shall work hand in hand with other Universities in India and abroad to fulfil this goal. All who care for advancement of learning and love education and who believe that work is worship are welcome to the University as associates or members or collaborators or well-wishers.
