Miloni Pathagar Dhupguri was established on 8^th May 1953 is situated at the heart of the town with the initiative of some culturally conscious men of the Dhupguri. The name is very significant because the library was built to unite the culturally-conscious men and to boost the local culture .The library was started with a limited number of old books donated by some enthusiasts. With the passage of time rapid progress of the library took place. The number of members gradually increased but the founders passed away one by one. In 1987 the pathagar got the status of Town Library with all the financial and other facilities of a Town Library. Now the library has at around 10,000 books with a “ Kishore Section” (for children) and a section for the “ Naba Sakshwar” (newly literate). The library regularly observes relevant occasions in its own premises. The golden jubilee was observed in a festive mood in 2003.
