In 1956, the school, already existing in the ruined buildings of the King of Kashipur, came under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, when Purulia district was included in the state of West Bengal. Later in 1966 the new building was inaugurated by the then Education Minister Sri Rabindralal Singha.
The school is now running under the administrative and financial support from the School Education Department,Govt. of West Bengal and also owes the Sarva Siksha Mission and the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan for its success and achievements.
