I, on behalf of all the members of Gour Mohan Sachin Mandal Mahavidyalaya family welcome all the visitors to our website. We have intended to provide a thorough and exhaustive information about the college through the website. Motivated by the philosophy of maintaining transparency in administration and ensuring accountability of all the stake holders, the college believes that teaching cognitive skill is not enough, what is indispensable is to promote value based education for all round sustainable development for the citizens of the future. It is a matter of pride that the college has been accredited by the NAAC in March 2007 with B grade. It is our constant endeavor to achieve A grade during the next accreditation. The college academic environment has been stimulated in the interest of the community concerned. Affiliation has been granted by the University of Calcutta in new subjects like Environment Science, Food and Nutrition, Sociology in the session 2008-2009. We are immensely pleased by the excellent results of C.U. Part - I 2008 where 6 students have secured First Class with commendable marks. It is our mission to afford maximum facilities to our students for their all round development. We intend to get affiliation in subjects like Computer Science, Journalism as general subjects, and Honours in Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany in the near future. Subject to fund availability we intend to add new buildings, auditorium and a separate Science building. To support the economically weak and socially backward students, the college has adequate provision for fees concession and stipends for the reserved category of students who form a major bulk of the college. Regular government scholarships for minorities, physically challenged students and bidi workers are arranged.
