Ever since its inception Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University has thrived to cater to the needs of the aspiring students who are the future of our country. This University is named after the great Rajbanshi leader and social reformer Panchanan Barma also known as Thakur Panchanan and Roy Saheb.

It is a great privilege and honour to be a part of the mission to make Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University a name to reckon within the academic fraternity by giving a strong impetus to creating an environment of knowledge application and holistically inspiring students to become eminent leaders of tomorrow. Our challenge is to help to generate ideas that will benefit society, and to educate and train people to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialised knowledge, and for their ability to research, communicate and solve problems.

We have 30700 students (approx.) of whom 29400 students (approx.) are undergraduate students studying in fifteen colleges affiliated to Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and 1300 students (approx.) are post-graduate students of our University. We are prepared to accept new challenges and make our University a well-known educational centre of knowledge generation, acquisition and dissemination.

I believe that the rigours of the contemporary world will require knowledgable professionals who could withstand the dynamics of the fast-changing world. Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University is going to be fully equiped and motivated to face the challenges and turn out to be successful in the endeavour. To realise our goals we are making all our efforts to build an outstanding infrastructure and recruit dedicated faculty.
