The library was established in the year 1986-87 with a district library status by the Govt.of West Bengal and formally opened on 1st November1988 by the then honourable Land & Land Reforms Minister of WB, Benoy Krishna Chowdhury.The two storied fully round building was constructed by the Asansol-Durgapur Development Authority with the financial assistance of the Govt. of West Bengal and the said authority.
Monday to Saturday (2nd & 4th Saturday closed).
Time: April to September : 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. And October to March : 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
