The Library was established in 1st February, 1933 during the British Period by some employees of East- India Company. The Library building damaged by fire and stopped working for a short period of time.

There after it was taken care off by the members of the Swastika Sangha since 1944 to 1958.

This Library was sponsored by the Govt of West Bengal. (Education Deptt & Mass Education) .

There after the library was shifted in a new building at the present premises with the help of Swastika Sangha.

From 1970 to 2004 the library could not function properly due to the fault of managing committee. From 2004 the library began to grow. It is two storied now and it has become a sub- divisional library.
