Bishop’s College is a private, day and boarding school for girls, providing education from Nursery to year 14. Bishop’s College has been providing excellence in education since 1875. We believe that a balanced education such as we provide, enables our students to go out in to the world as academically sound, socially skilled young people who contribute positively to society. Our campus is set in the heart of residential Colombo. We have many beautiful buildings which are over a hundred years old, and more modern buildings including one by renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. An auditorium, swimming pool, sports ground and other facilities are available. Our chapel contains a beautiful mural by Mrs.Nalini Jayasuriya.

Our facilities aim to provide students with opportunities in all areas. The school remains true to our Anglican Heritage, keeping in mind our Founder Bishop James Chapman’s vision. As from its inception, Bishop’s College nurtures and encourages different faiths among students.

Our staff and support staff, carry out their duties loyally and with dedication. The school provides sports coaches who are committed towards helping our children achieve their personal best.

The Principals of the past have served to make this school the wonderful place it is today. We are guided by the members of The Board of Governors, whose Chairperson is the Bishop of Colombo (Church of Ceylon). All our facilities, all our human resources and a loyal network of past pupils have all contributed and continue to contribute towards making Bishop’s College what it is today, keeping true to our motto “Non Sibi Sed Omnibus” May the Spirit of Bishop’s College continue to flourish!
