Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College has a brilliant history to boast of. It was formerly known as Victoria College. As a seat of learning, it has a glorious past. As Coochbehar has a legacy of education since an eon, this college is sure to have a memory-trove to cash in on, no doubt. Way back in 1888, Maharaja Nripendra Narayan, who was an enthusiast in expanding learning in this region, built this college in the bustling central hub of the town of Coochbehar.
The first Principal of this College was J.D. Goodley and the first Indian who graced the chair of the Principal was erudite Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal. For eighteen long years (1896-1913) he was at the helm of the affairs of this College. An ardent lover of books, this scholarly Principal was also a perfect academician and administrator. Under the aegis of Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal, the College had provisions for teaching post graduate courses in English Language and Literature and Philosophy. Even Law formed an appendage to it. After the merger of Coochbehar Princely State with India, The Government of West Bengal took up the responsibility of running this institution. Thus this College earned the status of a Government College.
Acharaya Brojendra Nath Seal College (A B N Seal College) formerly Known as Victoria College has a glorious past. It is founded by his highness Maharaja Nipendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur, the Raja of Prince listed Cooch Behar. The date of its holy birth is in 15th June, 1888. Since then it is enmarked as site of learning in North Bengal along with a portion of greater Bengal as well as North east India.
The goal of this college is to create socially responsible citizen with academic excellence by blending traditional values of education with modernity. To achieve this goal the college continuously strives towards-

Online registration process for filling up the form under abnscollege.org website starts from 05.06.2017 at 00:00 hrs. and closes on 13.06.2017 at 23:59:59 hrs. Candidates should click on ‘Online Application Registration’.
It is mandatory to fill up the ‘*’ marked sections of the Application Form.
Candidates can apply for three Hons./Core Subjects and a General Course in a single application.
As per the University guidelines, only the candidates clearing 10+2 Examination in the year 2017, 2016 or 2015 will be eligible for applying in Hons.(Core)/ General Courses.
Since the Cooch Behar Panchanan Burma University introduces the C.B.C.S. System from the upcoming session the Candidates need not to select the subject combination at the time of the application; s/he will get this opportunity after admission. The name of the Hons./Core Subject and the Course (Hons./General) are to be mentioned clearly in the Application Form.
One Application Form will be accepted against a single mobile number.
The Registration ID, Password and all other relevant information and later instructions will be sent to the mobile number provided in the Application Form.
Candidates should mention the Total Marks as well as the Marks obtained in different subjects (except Environmental Studies) in 10+2 level Examination. The option for best 5 or best 4 is no more necessary.
Candidates, who are like to avail the hostel facility of the college, require to mention the same in the relevant space provided for, and they also need to supply the relevant information enquired for in the application form. During the time of applying for hostel facilities, candidates should submit the appropriate certificate signed by the local authority.
